About

I'm Enrique, a CTO who's spent the last 15+ years helping teams build things that actually work. Born in Lima, grew up in Montreal, got older in Paris, and now, like Carmen Sandiego, I could be anywhere.

Fractional CTO · Born in Lima · Grew up in Montreal · Got older in Paris

I got my first computer around 8 or 9, spent my childhood surfing BBSs, and started coding at 10: BASIC, FoxPro, C. I've never really stopped. I love coding, and I believe firmly that managers who don't code have no business being in tech.

I love what I do. I've worked on small systems and big ones, across many industries. Payments is one I particularly love for the richness of its scenarios. More recently, I've been modernizing platforms and rebuilding engineering cultures as VP Engineering. These days, I work as a fractional CTO, helping founders and boards make better technology decisions without the overhead of a full-time hire.

What I Care About

Clarity Over Complexity

Most tech problems aren't actually hard. They're just tangled. I help teams find the right architecture, the right priorities, and the shortest path from idea to something real.

Infrastructure That Lasts

I've built payment systems, content platforms, and everything in between. I care about things that stay up, scale gracefully, and don't wake you up at 3 AM.

Trust & Security

Years in payments taught me that security isn't a feature you bolt on later. It's a foundation. I've done the hard compliance work (PCI, ISO 27001, fraud systems) so teams can build with confidence.

People First

The best technology comes from teams that feel ownership. I've built distributed teams across four countries and the pattern is always the same: invest in people, and the code follows.
